Bejeweled Darkness leaves a dim streak
Of a shooting star that later hugs the dust;
Sorrow darts from sky and paints so bleak
Every nook of earth from seas to crust.
Your pallid apparition chills my veins,
However raven, your hair desists to glow;
Portraits of you turn like moon that wanes
On shadowed nights that once were indigo.
Life is where in this predicament?
It does not show in Sinukuan’s breeze.
Crowning fervor lacks in rays unbent
Although Sol starts to rip the dusky east.
Rice fields of Gapan are parched when noons arrive,
Pathos goes unseen with moon’s rebirth;
In your absence, I no longer am alive,
Our distance makes my living less its worth.
